JUNIOR GOLF LEAGUE

Junior Golf 2009

Junior Golf Mission Statement: To provide a golf experience for junior golfers that is fun, but also a learning experience. We expect every golfer to leave the camps, clinics, and league with new golf knowledge. The Sand Creek Junior Golf Program will be focusing on preparing the junior golfers of Sand Creek to be able to successfully participate in the Northwest Indiana Junior Golf Association.

 League

  • Must pass playing assessment with a golf professional to participate.
  • Playing Assessment requirements:
    • Must shoot better than 14 on 2 holes
    • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of rules and etiquette by passing a written test
    • Must be able to carry golf bag
    • Demonstrate good pace of play
    • Demonstrate honesty and good character
  • Assessment must be done on June 9th at 8:00 a.m., June 16th at 8:00 a.m., or any time prior with a golf professional
  • Registration into the league will not be permitted if an assessment has not been completed
  • 3 Levels of Tees and requirements
    • Beginner Tees – 1200 yards (150 yards and in)
      • Must be able to shoot target score of 60
      • Be responsible for own clubs 
      • Demonstrate knowledge of rules and etiquette
      • Keep pace of play
      • Show good character and honesty
      • To advance to Intermediate tees must shoot 55
    • Intermediate tees – 1800 yards 
      • Must be able to shoot target score of 55 from beginner tees
      • Be responsible for own clubs 
      • Demonstrate knowledge of rules and etiquette 
      • Keep pace of play 
      • To advance to Advanced tees must shoot 50 from intermediate tees
    • Advanced tees – Sand Creek Red tees – 2600 yards
      • Must be able to shoot target score of 50 from intermediate tees
      • Be responsible for own clubs 
      • Demonstrate knowledge of rules and etiquette 
      • Keep pace of play 
  • Competition will be based on a points system for each skill level 
  • Price - $150
